The New System Lab provides building blocks for systems change, that can transforms passion and belief into action on the ground. It is for individuals, organisations, funders and commissioners who want to change the system. It is for people who have the motivation and enthusiasm to pass power back to people, changing practice, culture and mind-sets.

Whether ‘dipping your toe’ for the first time or building on existing person-led, transitional and strength-based work, the Lab offers resources for change that have been developed from years of prototyping and listening to people experiencing tough times.

The PTS Network

The Person-led, Transitional and Strength-based (PTS) Response is an evidence-based way of working and is at the core of creating the paradigm shift to a person-led system, where people have choice and control over their lives through tough times. By joining the PTS Network, you will join others across the UK in delivering the PTS, collectively learning and supporting each other to transform organisational culture and influence for wider change based on the grassroots experiences of delivering person-led work. PTS Transitions Pilots

This is an exciting new opportunity for commissioners to work collaboratively with the New System Alliance to prototype a completely new way of commissioning for impact and actively model the paradigm shift in your area. You will be able to capture learning as it happens in real time to inform new commissioning models as they emerge and uncover the nuances behind what it really means to commission in a strength based way.

System Reflect

System Reflect is a one-day session led by those that have frontline experience in the sector, that shares the learning (and the pain) of developing and delivering Person-led, Transitional and Strength-based (PTS) Response.  This easy to understand but challenging session offers those new to person-led work and systems change, or those that want to bring others along on the journey, a grounding in thinking and practice to start your person-led and strength-based response.

The PTS Qualification provides a unique opportunity to deepen your learning and understanding of what it truly means to deliver a Person-led, Transitional, and Strength-based (PTS) Response or like-minded approach. This qualification will further your understanding of current systems, the barriers they create, and the positive impact that can occur for people experiencing tough times and the sector as a whole when those barriers are removed.

Adapted and developed alongside the Search Institute in America, the PTS data set provides the right tools for capturing and measuring strengths and assets in an empirical way. Tested over many years, this method of data capture has been proven to work alongside strength-based practice, will validate the work that you are doing and most importantly, contributes to the growing body of evidence to support the move away from the deficit system.

The Wisdom Methodology

The Wisdoms methodology is a tried and tested way of deeply listening to people experiencing tough times and creates the foundation for organisational transformation.  The Wisdoms allows you to really uncover people’s experiences of the system and services either within your organisation or wider locality, prompting critical reflection and a platform for change.
